![]() ![]() Plus it’s something a little different to what I usually read and the reviews on GoodReads looked okay, so I bought it. I’ve been to Venice before so I thought the setting might be interesting. I stumbled across this book in my local Big W and liked the look of the cover and the blurb. Falco is quick to offer his assistance, but then Cass starts receiving death threats… Is Falco more involved than she imagined? And will she stay true to her fiancé, or succumb to her uncontrollable feelings for someone she’s not even sure she can trust? When Cass stumbles upon the body of a murdered woman – with a bloody X carved across her heart – she’s drawn into a dangerous world of secret societies, courtesans and killers. He is attractive, audacious… and highly unsuitable. While her fiancé is away in Paris, she has a chance meeting with an artist called Falco. Her world is one of fabulous gowns, masquerade balls and privilege, yet she longs for something more. Genre: Young Adult, Historical, Romance, MysteryĬassandra is part of Venice’s wealthy elite. Title: Venom, Book 1 in The Secrets of the Eternal Rose series ![]() ![]() It’s not realistic on the whole, but the details are superb as Morrell lets us into the minds of two men who are slowly dying and going crazy. The steadily ratcheting “First Blood” is about the extreme lengths a human body can be pushed to before it breaks. It’s impossible to not picture Stallone when reading Morrell’s words, but before the movie came out, people were perhaps picturing less of a grown man. Teasle thinks of Rambo as “the kid,” since he doesn’t learn his name till well into the book. The author brings us into the heads of both, with Rambo thinking maybe I didn’t have to fight back but goddammit I’m not gonna be pushed around anymore, and Teasle thinking maybe I could’ve eased off but goddammit this town will go to the druggies if I’m not stern with the longhairs. ![]() ![]() Morrell’s book, written in an anti-literary yet easy flowing style, becomes an intensely personal battle of strategy and wits between Rambo and Teasle. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The message of what can be accomplished by training through affection and joy will thrill all animal lovers.' - Betty White 'Once in a while, a book comes along to prove that wonderful friendships can occur between the animal kingdom and mankind. □ Lee Ahora □ Descargar Modoc: The True Story of the Greatest Elephant That Ever Lived de Ralph Helferĭescripción - Críticas 'Heartwarming, captivating.a beautifully true story that will make you think twice about the incredible and very real feelings of elephants, and probably the greatest love story ever told.' - African Sun-Times 'Once I started this incomparable story, I couldn't put it down, and I cannot get it out of my mind-nor will I ever. While McClellan writes that ‘I still like and and admire President Bush,’ he doesn’t do his old boss many favors in the book. Only later, McClellan said, did he realize he had been ‘deceived into unknowingly passing along a falsehood’ about their involvement. McClellan pointed to a confidential meeting Rove and Libby held ‘at a moment when I was being battered by the press for publicly vouching for the two by claiming they were not involved in leaking Plame’s identity.’ ![]() (Libby was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice last year in the case.) Maybe McClellan was embittered by the likelihood that he was bamboozled by Bush’s top strategist Karl Rove and Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby, who was the vice president’s chief of staff, about the disclosure of the identity of former CIA operative Valerie Plame. At the time Bush naming him the official press secretary surprised many of his colleagues, who felt he was in over his head at times. McClellan was rarely used as an on-camera campaign spokesman and served as assistant in the shadow of former press secretary Ari Fleischer. Although White House reporters sometimes felt he was uncomfortable in his press secretary role, McClellan was considered one of Bush’s Lone Star loyalists hired by former communications director Karen Hughes for the Texas governor’s office and the 1999-2000 campaign. ![]() ![]() ![]() Steeped in the sharp cliffs and the brutal wilderness of the Wyoming landscape, Winterkill is a masterful performance, darkly compelling and utterly unforgettable.
